The Galadari Hotel has many a reason to celebrate due to its outstanding performance at the Chefs Guild Culinary Art 2015 held recently at the BMICH. The hotel bagged 24 medals which include 1 Gold Excellence, 4 Gold, 6 Silver and 13 Bronzes.
Proving their culinary prowess the participants showcased talent in grand style. The highlight of the competition was Sampath Kumara who was awarded a Gold Excellence for his highly creative wedding cake structure.
The other Gold medallists include H.D. Kumarasinghe for Best Vodka Cocktail which was the most outstanding out of the vodka cocktail category, R.A. Eranga Sanjeewa for Beer Cocktail, U.D. Dilip, Madushan Abeyrathna for Beer Cocktail and Fatima Rasheena Begum for Scan Sunquick Mocktail.
Commenting proudly of his team’s extraordinary achievements Executive Chef Imroze Salih said “It is extremely encouraging and an honour when our hard work is recognised and rewarded. Competitions of this nature allow creative culinary skills to blossom and grow, and is the ideal platform to showcase talent.” Adding his views on the hotel’s moment of glory Director Food and Beverage Thushantha Kariyawasam stated, “We believe that success in a competition should not be an isolated incident but instead it should be something that is achieved continuously and consistently, through dedication and hard work. I am positive that our team is committed to live up to this.”
