A special guest chef will be flown in from Italy exclusively for the event and will be preparing popular Italian dishes using the choicest and most authentic ingredients. While most of us recognise pizza and pasta as Italian cuisine, the rich history of Italy proves that the food is much more than dough and tomato sauce. Pulling from Roman, Greek and Arab influences, Italian cuisine evolved many times over before it became the popular foods known around the world today. With the use of exotic ingredients such as tomato, bell peppers, ginger, pepper and other spices, Italian cuisine is celebrated for its simplicity and abundance of taste. During the promotion of Italian cuisine, The Dining Room will host a wide selection of dishes representing the regional flavours of the country. Antipasti, which means “before the meal” is the traditional first course of an Italian meal. The dinner buffet at The Dining room will thus include a delectable array of antipasti, including fresh calamari salad and bruschetta. Completing the Italian gastronomical journey, the guest chef together with his team of skilled chefs at The Dining Room, will be serving irresistible pizzas and pastas to suit every palate. Sauces like putanesca, four formaggi, bolognese and carbonara are amongst some of the flavours which will perfectly complement the delicious pastas being served. Not to be missed is the selection of rich and creamy risotto which will serve as an ideal meal bringing together the many textures and flavours of Italian cuisine. The Italian culinary journey would not be complete withouta stop to relish traditional Italian cold desserts such as panna cotta and the renowned tiramisu which combines the flavours of rich cream and Italy’s specialty espresso coffee. The celebration of Italian cuisine at The Dining Room will continue from 12 to 21 September, priced at Rs. 2,555 all inclusive per person.
