Hilton Colombo took centre stage this weekend with an outstanding Street Cooking Festival to commemorate their 25th anniversary. The hotel bought together food lovers onto one street for their inaugural Street Cooking Food Festival featuring 25 stations serving flavours from around the world, with 60 of the hotel’s finest chefs cooking up a storm onsite at the event.
Hilton Colombo decked out the BOC Mawatha with stalls elaborately decorated by their own in-house team, according to each country it represented. Offering a host of tantalising dishes from a range of countries across the world with stalls also offering fresh juices and a Long Bar serving refreshing cocktails, the Street Cooking Festival took guests on an indulgent culinary journey. The Hilton team also took the crowd by surprise with a special choreographed dance performance during the event. With an unprecedented number of visitors of over 6000 food lovers, the event was an unforgettable success all around.
The crowd also enjoyed the evening with an impressive line-up of leading Sri Lankan acts and performances from the likes of Iraj, Bathiya and Santhush, Lahiru and Coreen Almeida and the Beat Box. Further entertainment acts for the evening included stilt walkers, Jananath and his band of drummers and the Hilton Colombo’s very own award winning Flair Bartender Dain who enthralled the crowd with his remarkable bartending skills. This unique initiative by Hilton Colombo was a celebration of 25 years of service excellence, continuing to be the trendsetters in the industry and delivering on Conrad Hilton’s vision of spreading the light and warmth of hospitality, in Sri Lanka.
