HSBC has partnered Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) to bring forth yet another tantalising food fiesta popularly known as the World Spice Food Festival with the aim of showcasing Sri Lanka’s culinary expertise and combining global food cuisines for both locals and tourists.

The food festival begins with a Hawker’s Street from 5 to 7 October 2012 at the Diyawanna ‘Board Walk’ in Battaramulla, featuring leading hotels and restaurants in the country that will serve up an appetizing menu of local and international cuisine.

There will also be a line-up of attractions such as cookery demonstrations, cooking competitions, kottu championship, mocktail and cocktail competitions and special culinary performances, coupled with live music to compliment the atmosphere.

HSBC credit cardholders will be invited to experience special dining privileges with an exclusive 20 per cent discount offered at theme cuisine food stalls at the Hawker’s street event on all three days. Further, a special hotel promotion will allow cardholders to savour exclusive signature culinary cuisines prepared by master chefs at participating hotels and restaurants, from 8 to 13 October, 2012.

Nilantha Bastian, Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management stated, “HSBC is happy to once again be associated with the World Spice Food Festival in partnership with SLTDA and offer locals and tourists the opportunity to experience a global culinary extravaganza, right here in Sri Lanka.

“We are pleased to offer an exclusive offer on theme cuisines to cardholders who will no doubt want to patronise the event and taste the many unique flavours from around the world. This once again demonstrates our commitment towards our customers, whereby they get to enjoy a culinary feast at one location.”
