On 18 March 2013, McDonald’s celebrated National Breakfast Day. McDonald’s Sri Lanka joined in on the world’s biggest free breakfast giveaway by handing out free egg burgers to customers.
Each of the six McDonald’s outlets at Kollupitiya, Race Course, Rajagiriya, Nugegoda, Kotahena and Welisara served up 1,000 free burgers. Despite the giveaway being scheduled to take place between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m., crowds had already started gathering by 5:45 a.m. and all of the six locations had finished their 1,000 burgers within the hour.
McDonald’s Sri Lanka celebrated National Breakfast Day in an effort to jumpstart their customers’ mornings by providing them with a delicious, nutritious and filling breakfast.
“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Sadly, so many of us are in a rush in the morning.
