People all around the globe celebrate World Milk Day on the 1st day of June every year since 2001. This is the day established by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations to recognise and celebrate the importance of milk to human life.
Lanka Dairies Limited, Subsidiary of Lanka Milk Foods (CWE) Plc, decided way back in 1995 that not only is milk so wholesome, it is so precious that it needed to be conveniently packed and served to satisfy daily nutritional requirements of the community. This is why Sri Lanka’s pioneer flavored fresh milk product was branded ‘DAILY’.
DAILY delights, nourishes and reminds people that fresh milk is wholesome all year round. That’s a big message to carry in a little pack, but it has always worked.
DAILY was the first entrant to the flavored fresh milk market of Sri Lanka in 1996, as the pioneer brand, introducing the state of the art UHT (Ultra Heat Treatment) aseptic packing, which is highly regarded as the best technological solution in preserving the nutritious value of fresh milk, even without refrigeration, ready to be distributed island wide as a superior nutritional solution over the powdered milk.
What began with the commonly known flavors chocolate and vanilla , has now expanded to include strawberry, banana, iced coffee and faluda flavors, making it the widest range of flavored milk in the Sri Lankan market, catering to diverse taste buds. Moreover, DAILY provides 20ml of additional milk nutrition in the ready-to-drink category compared with competing products, all for the same value. Addition to the ready to drink 200ml category, Daily range comprises of family packs of 1 litre , especially aiming family consumption for extended flavor indulgence for all those good moments in life.
Between 2001 and 2016 there have been 16 World Milk Days. Lanka Dairies on the other hand has had over 7000 ‘Milk Days’ since it first started celebrating the goodness of fresh milk on a DAILY basis.
