New tea brand Tannin launched

Asia Tea Packaging Limited, a subsidiary of the Asia Capital Group recently announced the launch of their own tea brand – Tannin, a label fully owned by the company.



Tannin will be 100% pure Ceylon Tea and will be available locally as well for export to international markets. ATP will initially concentrate on CIS countries, the Middle East and the Far East. The Tannin brand will see 4 ranges of tea being introduced; Black Tea, Fruit, Herbal and Organic.

The fruit flavoured teas to be introduced will be popular local choices such as Lemon, Pineapple, Strawberry, Mint and Earl Grey while the herbal range will encompass Nelli, Pol Pala, Ranawara, Wel Penera, Beli and Cinnamon. Based on demand the company also has plans to introduce several new flavours including Vanilla, Peach and Mango and could even go in for unusual flavours such as Rum and Chocolate. Under their line of organic teas the company will in the near future introduce tea with pieces of fruit in it for added flavor.

Speaking about the launch of this new brand Damitha Rathnayake the Tea Manager of Asia Tea Packaging Limited said, “We are delighted to launch our very own brand of tea, Tannin which is a significant step up for us from packaging tea. This is a remarkable achievement for us since we were able to launch our own brand within just one and a half years of operations. We have a lot of plans to take the brand further and we look to implement these plans in the near future.”

The company also announced that it has plans to feature Tannin at upcoming food fairs such as Sial, Anuga FoodTec, the Moscow Food Fair and the Dubai Food Fair, in order to promote the brand globally.

Established in mid 2010, Asia Tea Packaging Limited has within a short span of existence diversified from packaging to doing local sales and even exports. The company’s vision is to give customers a total solution from purchasing the tea at the auction right up to packaging and exporting. The company currently handles tea tasting, blending and flavouring in addition to packaging.
