Rocco’s authentic wood fired pizza is creating a buzz in the city of Colombo lately where the Italians’ main dish, pizza, made from scratch and with fresh ingredients, is served or delivered in style.

Rocco’s rocks as it goes; the pizzas are incredibly mouth watering and something ‘new’ to a customer who has tasted pizza in every nook and cranny of the city. Tasting Rocco’s Pizza makes you realise you are eating the right Italian pizza as they are made using sauces and fillings prepared fresh daily.

“Pizza toppings are classic and some of them are all time firm favourites; Margherita, Marinara, Quattro Formaggi (four cheese), Seafood, Pepperoni, Vegetariano, Chicken and Mushroom, Capricciosa, Napolitana, Tuna and Onion, Meat Fest, Tropicale and for the Sri Lankan palate – Spicy Chicken, try us once and you will crave for more,” says Dimuthu – pizza chef extraordinaire.

So what is so special about Rocco’s – the pizzas are 14 inch, thin crust and baked in an authentic wood fired oven which gives a unique flavour. “Every pizza we make is tossed by hand and not rolled on a machine.    “It’s not just a slogan, we truly believe that “you will love our pizzas,” says Dimuthu, “but don’t take our word for it, try us out for yourself and taste the difference.”

“We use only the finest quality ingredients purchased both locally and imported to ensure the highest standards possible.”

Apart from pizzas, Rocco’s also takes pride in serving  nourishing  Italian Salads such as Caprese – Fresh Tomato and Mozzarella Cheese and Rucola di Grana – Rocket Leaves and Sun-Dried Tomatoes (seasonal).

Dessert completes the meal so try the heavenly Blackcurrant Surprise – light, jelly based delight; melt-in-the-mouth Cassata – creamy three layered Neapolitan ice cream; or tantalising Tiramisu – sponge fingers soaked in the finest Italian coffee and layered with mascarpone cheese and cream.
