Spizee Foods (Pvt) Ltd. Managing Director Ifthikar Zaruk, unveiled the company’s latest product offering Galle Roast Coffee at a media briefing held at the Galle Face Hotel on Tuesday.
Eager to carve a niche in the premium blend coffee segment, the company has high hopes for the product targeting the growing consumer demand for high-end premium coffee blends.
Elaborating on the Galle Roast blend Zaruk said: “We’ve worked hard on the Galle Roast blend for the past six months now with input from local and overseas industry experts as well to come up with this new product. Our production team includes experts in the agriculture, food science and technology fields and we are proud to launch a high quality product with a unique name that symbolises the historic town and the rich archaeological heritage from which it originates.”
He further stated that the coffee beans, which are sourced from local growers in the area, are processed, roasted, ground and packaged on the same day, adding: “This way the customer can experience each package of coffee opened to be as fresh as the day it was roasted.”
The company also looks forward to expanding its outlets and product availability to the greater Colombo area as well as the Gampaha, Galle and Kandy Districts as well by the end of the year.
Spizee Foods Sales Manager Andreen De Zilva stated: “We hope to supply cafes, restaurant and caterers with their requirements in fine coffee powder, coarse espresso and roasted beans in bulk and smaller quantities, however delivery orders required within 48 hours would be restricted to the Colombo city limits only for the time being.”
