The Eden Resort & Spa’s star chefs, culinary maestros win at Culinary Art Food Expo

The Chefs Guild of Lanka organised the 16th Culinary Art Food Expo in July this year at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre. The exhibition featured an array of culinary arts including a culinary arts competition. The three-day competition and live show that took place from 24 July to 26 July saw an impressive participation of about 2,000 members from 250 hotels and catering establishments island-wide.

The Culinary Art & Food Expo is a great platform for star class hotels and catering establishments in Sri Lanka to showcase their artistic talents, skills and expertise at one of the biggest food shows in Asia. Recognised by the World Association of Chefs Societies, the show is judged by WCAS approved top professionals from all over the world.

The Eden Resort & Spa is honoured to have been a part of the prestigious event. Personnel from the culinary segment took part in the main event, whilst members from the F&B Department competed in the Beverage Challenge section. 

The star players achieved the 

following accolades:

Culinary Segment – Carving & Live Cooking

7 Gold Excellence and gold medals, 14 silver and 14 bronze 

Special awards:

‘Anchor Pastry Challenge’ – Down South Joint Champs

‘Anchor Pastry Challenge’ – All-Island 2nd Runners-up  

‘Nestle Dochello Best Dessert’ – Award

This accomplishment further strengthens Eden’s standing in the highly competitive local market as well as marking its presence in the global arena.
