Get ready for the Year of the Rooster! Rooster is the 10th in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac sign. Rooster is almost the epitome of fidelity and punctuality. For ancestors who had no alarm clocks, the crowing was significant, as it could awaken people to get up and start to work.
That is why the Taj is celebrating this occasion with cuisine that addresses all the traits with preparations that are satisfying, customised to taste and smartly made. Indulge in a traditional Chinese New Year rendition from 28 January to 31 January at the Golden Dragon of Taj Samudra, Colombo.
Master Chef Wang of the Golden Dragon have created an extensive two set menu featuring appetisers like fried cuttlefish with chilli and Sichuan pepper or water chestnut and lamb spring rolls with spicy soy sauce, soups such as egg drop soup with sea weed and tomato, mains like Garoupa fillet with ginger and spring onions, deep fried crispy chicken, crispy buttered prawns, Teochew braised pork, lemon buttered fish filler along with stir fried vegetable noodles, Yong chow fried rice or fried noodle with chicken soy.
Chef Wang’s traditional Beijing Duck will be on the cards too during the Chinese New Year from 28 to 31 January 2017, during lunch and dinner.
