Waters Edge General Manager Rohan Fernandopule together with Chef Buddhika Samaraweera give their best to the mums on Mother’s day. A program to guide mums to the savvy art of cooking, serving family and friends is the gift on offer by this duo at  Waters Edge this Mother’s Day. By popular demand Rohan will re-launch his cookery lessons with the able assistance of Chef Buddika. Enrollments are open now – but for those mums who patronise the Brunch on Mother’s Day he will gift the first ‘cookery lesson’on a complimentary basis. Chef Rohan having taken on the mantle of General Manger is unable to leave the world of cooking he loved so much that he now wishes to impart his knowledge and skills to the chefs in the homes. Rohan is the only Sri Lankan member of the prestigious ‘Club Des Chefs Des Chefs’ – the world’s most exclusive gastronomic society with a membership of just over 20 chefs. To be accepted into this highly elite club, one needs to have served heads of state and Rohan has served many royalty and heads of State in the past few years. He is also an Olympic Gold Medalist and was appointed as the president of Bocuse d’Or Sri Lanka by the Bocuse d’Or International Committee in France. He served as a judge at the Bocuse d’Or Asian selection held in Shanghai and in the very recent at the Food & Hotel Asia 2014 Culinary Challenge in Singapore as a member of the Jury for the Gourmet Team Challenge – a rare honour. His team mate Chef Buddhika whilst being a gold medalist at Food & Hotel Asia was the only Sri Lankan to represent Sri Lanka at the Bocuse d’Or world finals in Lyon in France. Together this talented duo wishes to impart their knowledge and skills to the women that have ‘rocked the cradle’ to help cooking at home a pleasure. The methodologies used will help in time management in the kitchen, planning a balanced and healthy meal, serving suggestions to wow the family and guests and introduction to international cuisines amongst many other technical skills.
