Waters Edge is proud to announce that it has been certified with ‘ISO 22000 system certification’, proving yet again the company’s commitment to the wellbeing of their customers.
The certification presentation ceremony was held at Waters Edge with the Sri Lanka Standards Institute Director Dharmawardene, making the presentation.
In his address he commented on the tenacity of the management and that of the employees towards attaining ISO 22000 certification and congratulated the employees for their commitment.
Food and beverage services are complex with hundreds of raw and semi-raw materials, other food ingredients, people and processes forming a continuous supply chain.
The certification recognises the food safety and security of the hotel’s supply chain in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 22000 standardisation.
With food safety making headlines around the world and with Sri Lanka focused on growth of the hospitality industry the need for food safety has become paramount to all F and B providers.
The General Manager Samaraweera took the challenge of getting Waters Edge food safety certified as he believed that food safety cannot and should not be compromised.
Although the processes to certification was rugged and arduous the dedicated food safety team lead by Chef Tissa De Sarem together with the guidance of the Executive Chef Tyrell Wasalatantrie was successful in achieving this feat within just one and a half years of implementing the process.
