The Central Bank of Sri Lanka will hold its annual Bank Directors’ Symposium on 11 December.
The symposium will be attended by over 200 directors and chief executive officers of 24 licensed commercial banks and nine licensed specialised banks.
This is the sixth consecutive symposium to be held with a view to updating and sharing the new developments in the economy including the regulatory environment in order to strengthen banks’ resilience to meet upcoming challenges and to facilitate reshaping their business models by exploring new opportunities and keeping pace with growing economic needs of the country.
The main theme of this year’s Directors’ Symposium will be ‘Beyond a Ten Trillion Banking Sector’.
Governor of the Central Bank Ajith Nivard Cabraal will deliver the keynote address.
The symposium will also deliberate on the following topics: Building Resilience in the Banking Sector; Changing Role of a Bank Director; Insights to Achieving Business Excellence; and Expansion and Stability: a Balancing Act.
