2019 China-South Asia Business Council Meeting kicks off in Negombo today

The SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as a collaborative partner to the China-South Asia Business Forum (CSABF), with the China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT-Yunnan) is jointly holding the China-South Asia Business Council Meeting (CSABCM) today, 30 November, in Negombo.

The objective of the meeting is to seek valuable input from the members of national chamber of commerce of South Asian countries to plan the 15th China South Asia Business Forum (CSABF), which will be held in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China, and to discuss on the Rotating Chair Country for CSABF 2020, the theme, invites and cooperation mechanism for CSABF 2020. 

Furthermore, the meeting comprises various sessions that focuses on Strengthening China-South Asia Cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

The SAARC CCI Vice Presidents and national chamber leaders are invited to attend the meeting. 

The meeting will be chaired by SAARC CCI President Ruwan Edirisinghe. Vice President (Nepal) Chandi Raj Dhakal, Vice President (Sri Lanka) Dr. Rohita Silva and SAARC CCI Past President Macky Hashim will also participate in the meeting.

SAARC CCI Snr. VP Iftikhar Ali Malik, FPCCI President Daru Khan, EC Member Zubair A. Malik and SAARC CCI Acting Secretary General Zulfiqar Butt arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday to participate in the meeting. 

CSABF is the first-ever cooperation mechanism established for regional economic cooperation between Chinese and SAARC industrial and commercial circles in 2005, in the context of ever-increasing mutual trust in political affairs and continuous economic cooperation between China and South Asian countries under the aegis of CCPIT Yunnan Sub-Council and SAARC CCI.
