2020 Appropriation Bill passed without vote

  • Budget for 2021 will be presented to Parliament on 17 Nov.
  • Debate on 2021 Budget will go on for 21 days, final voting on the Bill on 10 Dec.

The Appropriation Bill for 2020 was passed in Parliament last evening without a vote.

The Bill was taken up for debate following the Budget speech presented by Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The Budget for 2021 will be presented to Parliament on 17 November.

The debate will be held for 21 days with the final voting on the Bill scheduled for 10 December.
