Sri Lanka has begun the search for international firms engaged in Flight Inspection and Validation services for all three main airports for a three-year period.
GFAirport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Ltd. said tenders were floated as per the Government procurement guidelines of the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedure.
The prospective companies must be accredited by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) or their respective State regulatory authority to provide Flight Inspection and Flight Validation services. They must also have at least five years of experience working in international airports.
AASL said the firms should perform the routine flight inspection of radio and visual navigational aids at all three key airports including Bandaranaike International Airport, Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport, and Colombo International Airport Ratmalana.
They must also carry out Flight Validation tasks for the Colombo Flight Information Region (FIR) following the guidelines, conduct Flight Commissioning Tests for Visual and Radio Navigational Aids, Surveillance and Communication equipment installed in Sri Lanka as well as execute Flight Inspection of Visual and Radio Navigational Aids, Surveillance and Communication equipment installed in Sri Lanka under special circumstances such as replacement of antennae, coverage or performance analysis, etc.
The sources told the Daily FT that a pre-bid meeting is scheduled on 2 September via video conferencing, where all matters that need clarification can be discussed. Potential international firms are required to send in their proposals before 27 September.
