The Attorney General’s Department yesterday returned 38 incomplete investigations files pertaining to the suspects arrested in connection with the Easter Sunday terror attacks to the Police, an AG Department official said .
This brings the total number of files returned to the Police Department by the AG in the past three weeks to 78. On 26 June, 40 such files were returned.
The files were sent back with a letter to the Acting IGP Chandana Wickramaratne from AG Duppula De Livera P.C., advising him to complete the investigations comprehensively before returning the files, Coordinating Officer to the AG Nishara Jayaratne said. She noted that files sent to the AG pertaining to the Easter Sunday attacks did not contain sufficient material to pursue legal action.
