Air Astana last week began operating four flights per week to bring tourists during the on-going winter season.
Air Astana is the latest addition to the international aviation family, and resumed flights to Sri Lanka recently. This was a plus point for Sri Lanka for its recognition as a world class travel destination. Air Astana is the national carrier of Kazakhstan and has four flights per week, which are scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.
The passengers and crew of the inaugural flight were warmly welcomed by the Tourism Information Centre officers (TIC) of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB).
They were also given souvenirs to mark this inaugural visit and posed for a group photograph with the TIC staff as well. They seemed to be very much impressed with the warm welcome they received which was a memorable experience, showcasing the real Sri Lankan hospitality which it is world renowned for.
