Air Astana resumes flights to Colombo for winter season

Air Astana, the flag carrier of Kazakhstan officially resumed its operations to Sri Lanka for the winter 2024/2025 season, with the inaugural flight landing at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) on Monday night.

The flight was welcomed with a ceremonial water canon salute organised by the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Ltd., followed by a vibrant traditional Kandyan dance performance arranged by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB).

Air Astana will operate four weekly flights between Kazakhstan and Sri Lanka boosting connectivity between the two countries and providing new opportunities for tourism, trade and cultural exchange.

The winter season flights are expected to boost arrivals and pave way for Sri Lanka Tourism to achieve a record-breaking 2024.
