Air China to resume Chengdu-Colombo service from Monday

The flag carrier of the People’s Republic of China – Air China has confirmed the resumption of service between Chengdu and Colombo on 3 July after a three-year hiatus. The forthcoming Chengdu-Colombo service will open up more travel opportunities for business and leisure travellers as easy access to Sri Lanka.

The airline has scheduled three weekly flights between Chengdu and Colombo, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. 

Flights from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport will arrive at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Colombo at 08:55 p.m., with departures to Chengdu scheduled for 10:15 p.m.

Statistics released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority data showed that a total of 18,997 Chinese travellers visited Sri Lanka so far in 2023 since reopening its borders.
