Ajith Manapperuma sworn in as MP to fill Ramanayake’s seat

Ajith Kumara Manapperuma was sworn in as a Member of Parliament yesterday before Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena. 

He was appointed after jailed MP Ranjan Ramanayake lost his Parliamentary seat following his conviction by the Supreme Court. 

Manapperuma first entered Parliament in 2015 as a Gampaha District MP from the United National Party.

At the 2020 Parliamentary Election, he was elected to the fifth position from the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.
