Cricketing hero Aravinda de Silva was among the buyers of 27.3% stake in Ambeon Capital PLC on Monday when 280.3 million shares traded for Rs. 1.56 billion.
The deals saw Ambeon Capital share close up by Rs. 1.50 or 20.5% to Rs. 8.80. However yesterday it dipped by 30 cents or 3.4% to Rs. 8.50 with 1.6 million shares traded for Rs. 13.4 million.
In a disclosure to the market, Ambeon Capital said 120 million shares or 12% stake was acquired by a company named ARCASIA Investments and Trading Ltd. The Daily FT learns Aravinda de Silva had picked up over 10% stake as well.
The seller was ARRC Capital Ltd., which divested 274 million shares. As at 31 December 2023, AARC held 406.7 million shares or 40.5% stake.
A key subsidiary is Ambeon Holdings Capital under which comes leading software firm MillenniumIT ESP.
Ambeon Capital Group has interests in footwear, manufacturing porcelain, investments, property, financial services and IT and related services.
