Cricketing fame and high net worth investor Aravinda de Silva has joined the Board of Hatton Plantations PLC as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

De Silva, an all-time legend in the cricketing world, had an international career spanning over 20 years. He is the only cricketer to have scored a century and taken three wickets in a World Cup final, a feat he achieved during Sri Lanka’s victorious 1996 campaign.

De Silva further continued his association with the game in Sri Lanka, serving in an advisory capacity to Sri Lanka Cricket and the Minister of Sports, as well as holding the positions of Vice President of Sri Lanka Cricket, Chairman of Selectors, and Chairman of the Cricket Committee on numerous occasions.

He was selected as one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1996, and he is one of the five Sri Lankan cricketers named on the prestigious list. In 2023, De Silva was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame, making him the fourth Sri Lankan to receive that honour.
