Army Commander addresses Ceylon Chamber members

Defence Chief, Army Commander and Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva, on Thursday addressed the monthly meeting of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) as a guest speaker via video conferencing. 

His address focused on the thematic ‘Successful Management of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Sri Lanka and the Way Forward’ which in turn evoked deliberations in the CCC meeting. The CCC invited Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva to join the sessions as a guest speaker in recognition of his continued contribution to the task against transmission of COVID-19 pandemic in Sri Lanka. 

The live Q&A video session after the NOCPCO Head’s address sparked off interest and enthusiasm among those attendees in the CCC meeting. Army said Lt. Gen. Silva’s presentation and follow-up Question-Answer (Q&A) came in for praise of the Ceylon Chamber. 

A letter to the Commander’s Secretariat afterwards by Secretary General and CCC Chief Executive Officer Manjula De Silva stated that the “Question and Answer session was indicative of the high degree of interest the members had in the visionary and informative address delivered by the Head NOCPCO”.
