Colombo High Court Judge Namal Ballalle yesterday ordered the Attorney General to file counter objections on the preliminary objections raised by the accused Counsel Kalinga Indatissa PC in the Swiss Embassy employee abduction case.
The Judge further ordered the Attorney General to file his objections within three weeks from this date and fixed further inquiry for 11 January.
In this case, the Attorney General had filed charges against Ganiya Bannister Francis of Maligakanda, Colombo 10 for fabricating false evidence by claiming that she was abducted on 25 November 2019 by five persons in a white van in Cinnamon Gardens Colombo, who had thereafter illegally detained and sexually harassed her under threat and duress by pointing firearm for several hours and questioned her of the whereabouts of former CID Inspector Nishantha Silva who had migrated to an unknown destination.
Counsel Kalinga Indatissa PC had raised the preliminary objections challenging the Attorney General stance under Section 189 and 190 of Penal Code.
