BOI Chairman joins Softlogic Life Insurance Board

Board of Investment Chairman Sanjay Mohottala in his personal capacity has joined the Board of Softlogic Life Insurance PLC as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

The move effective from 1 July is subject to the company obtaining approval of the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka.

Business leader Ashok Pathirage-controlled Softlogic Capital PLC owns a 52% stake in the company.

Mohottala is the Managing Director and Partner at Boston Consulting Group in Singapore. He is responsible for deploying resources, client portfolio management, development of practice areas and people development.

At an operational level, he advises Principal Investors and Private Equity (PIPE) clients, Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF), Global MNCs, regional and local companies, with detailed and macro experience in M&A, investments, corporate development, strategy, re-organisation, go to market, digital venturing and on large-scale restructuring.

Mohottala’s qualifications include; MBA – Entrepreneurship and Strategy – UCLA Anderson School of Management; B.Sc. – Engineering, Electronic and Telecommunication – University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka; Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing, Chartered Institute Of Marketing – UK; Diploma in Management Accounting – Chartered Institute Of Management – UK.

With the latest announcement, the Board of Softlogic Life Insurance comprises of Chairman Ashok Pathirage, Managing Director Imtiaz Ahamed, H.K. Kaimal, V. Govindasamy, F.P.L. Lima, R. Synders, P.L.P. Wihana and S.W. Mohottala.
