The Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka (AHK Sri Lanka) is all set to present the best of its construction products and solutions in its first-evercountry pavilion at the housing and construction expo ‘Build SL 2019’ scheduled to take place from 22 to 24 March at the BMICH, Colombo.
The German pavilion located in exhibition ‘Hall E’, which is also the largest country pavilion at this year’s expo, focuses a lot on future topics such as energy efficiency in buildings, intelligence and smart solutions. It will house 18 companies which represents top German brands in Sri Lanka with a wide variety of products and solutions.
As the official representative of German business in the country, AHK Sri Lanka said they were committed to support both Sri Lankan and German companies to expand their businesses and increase market potentials.
“I think the pavilion is a very good opportunity to show the business community and the individual consumers on new technologies, solutions and potential they have in sustainable development and its impact to an improved living standards,” Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri LankaChief DelegateAndreas Hergenroether told journalists in Colombo yesterday.
He stressed that the German Pavilion is one of the greatest opportunities for companies to showcase their innovative products and solutions for upcoming construction projects in Sri Lanka.
Furthermore, the event is meant to be a platform for the industry to increase the know-how which potentially affect the construction and construction related industries.
In parallel to the trade fair, a conference also will be held to discuss ‘The Future of the Construction of Buildings’ focusing on three main topics in the construction industry. There will be three panel discussionswhich deals with Sustainable Planning and Architecture, Building Technology including Smart Building andBuilding Materials. Industry experts from Germany and Sri Lanka will share their views at the conference.
The exhibiting German brands at the pavilion includes; Siemens (building technologies), BASF (construction chemicals), Knauf AMF (gypsum boards, ceiling tiles),Wurth (tools, roofers, plasterers, stucco mason) Aluplast (windows and doors), IGEBA (fogging equipment),Inoutic (windows), Fischer (fixing systems), Ludwig Pfeiffer Hoch-Und Tiefbau GmbH & Co. KG (civilengineering), Stihl (power equipment) OWA (noise insulating fiber ceilings), Parkett Freund (Flooring),Continental (tires for construction vehicles), Linde (industrial gases for the construction industry), Luctra(lighting systems, intelligent lamps), SEA Bauformat (kitchen), Thyssen Krupp (Elevators), BOMAG(construction machinery), Hellmann , Allianz (Insurance) DHL Global Forwarding (freight forwarder withspecialized solution) and DHL Express.
Build SL 2019 - Housing and Construction Expo is organized by the Chamber of Construction Industry Sri
Lanka (CCI), with the objective of providing a platform to the construction industry stakeholders to displaytheir products, services, new technologies and capabilities to the potential customers and general public.In addition, this Expo will highlight the recent development projects undertaken in the country with an insighttowards the plans for building a new Sri Lanka.
