Biomass Supplies has become the first company in Sri Lanka to achieve SLSI 1551:2016 standard certification for sustainably sourced fuelwood from the Sri Lanka Standards Institute.

This certification ensures fuelwood sold to industry is truly sourced from sustainable sources such as certified farms and plantations where chain of custody and traceability of fuelwood is a principle criterion.

Biomass Supplies offers an alternative to environmentally damaging practices such as illicit felling of natural forests.

Biomass Supplies works with an out-grower model with smallholder farmers, state and private plantation owners in a unique innovative partnership aggregating tons of biomass that is deforestation-free, ethical, certified and sustainably sourced without ownership of land or mono-cultivation.

Biomass Supplies achieved Roundtable on Sustainable Bio-materials (RSB) certification in 2015, the 1st company to be accredited in Asia. And has been re-certified in 2017, 2019 and in 2020 proving the sustainability and traceability of its supply chain.
