Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) Board Member Dr. Sanjiva Weerawarana yesterday, in a personal tweet, denied the agency’s involvement in the report by the GMOA.
“We were never shown this document nor did we consent to being co-authors of this document,” Weerawarana said, adding that ICTA will publish a response. Expressing his personal view, Weerawarana said: “The idea of using Muslim population to make this decision is utterly preposterous and disgusting…. I am extremely sorry for the pain it will cause to people.”
The other members of the ICTA Board are Jayantha de Silva (Chairman), Mano Sekaram, Wasantha Deshapriya, Prof. Lalith Gamage, Reshan Dewapura, Manori Unambuwe and Vimukthi Janadara.
