One in a Million Ltd., which specialises in bubble-to-bubble integrated architectural and technologically driven in-bound tourism in Sri Lanka, has welcomed the UK's removal of Sri Lanka from its travel ‘Red List’ with effect from yesterday.

“UK's measure will open doors wider for British tourists to consider Sri Lanka for winter vacations,” said One in a Million, which has tied up with the world’s first integrated safety, security and mobility operating system, Restrata, to provide technology as part of a wider project aimed at bringing tourists back to Sri Lanka.

Restrata is a British owned group and has technology solutions in mitigating the risk of COVID-19 and helping to provide confidence and assurance for the hospitality, tourism and events business.

UK also replaced the complicated ‘traffic light’ watchlist with a simpler regime for fully vaccinated arrivals.

“UK is one of Sri Lanka's most reliable and longstanding tourist source markets. The relaxation gives us fresh hope to bring UK tourists back to Sri Lanka,” a One in a Million ((https://travelbubblelanka.com/) spokesman said.

He said John Keells Group hotels would be working exclusively with One in a Million for the inaugural group that would arrive from the United Kingdom with the Restrata Technology.

The One in a Million Spokesman also made a reference to Sri Lanka Tourism Chairperson Kimarli Fernando’s intervention to adopt the latest modifications on international travel movements sans PCR testing and help pave the way for double-jabbed tourists to travel hassle free, as a commendable gesture.

Furthermore, he said the statements made by Britain's Health Secretary Sajiid Javid on new travel rules and a framework for international travel can be anticipated and could be useful to implement since Restrasta is a UK-based technological company.

“The world in the midst of a pandemic may have to embrace unique technological features to safeguard tourist health and safety while ensuring hassle free traveling,” the One in a Million Spokesman added.

By creating bio-secure hotels, guests can enjoy their stay with the confidence that proven technology is being used to monitor and mitigate the risk of infection. Working alongside other measures (PCR testing, social distancing etc.), Restrata will monitor all personnel, including hotel staff, management, and guests, to ensure the bio-bubble is secure. Should a positive COVID-19 case be found, the technology can instantly provide contact tracing to ascertain the exposure of fellow guests and ensure that isolation is limited to only those with close contacts.
