CBSL calls for public inputs to amend Finance Leasing Act

The Central Bank has called for public views to complete the draft on Amendments to the Finance Leasing Act (FLA), as part of its ongoing efforts to better protect leasing customers and align with industry changes.

“Having recognized the need for strengthening the protection of finance leasing customers and updating the FLA to be in line with the industry developments, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has initiated amending the FLA. To have wider stakeholder consultation, the CBSL is inviting the general public to submit observations/ suggestions/ comments on the draft amendments,” a statement issued by CBSL noted.

Accordingly, the public can access the draft amendments through the following weblink at the CBSL website; https://www.cbsl.gov.lk/en/consultation-papers-for-public-comments

The public is invited to send their observations/ suggestions/ comments through post, fax or email on or before 31 May 2024, under the subject; ‘Observations/ Suggestions/ Comments on the draft amendments to the Finance Leasing Act’.
