CBSL receives over 150 complaints of unauthorised deposit taking; four cases filed

The Central Bank has received over 150 complaints of unauthorised deposit taking institutions in the country.

Officials also revealed that separately four cases have been filed following thorough investigation by the CBSL.

They said complaints received are referred to law enforcement authorities for further investigation after which the Attorney General’s Department’s intervention is sought to pursue action further.

“There are several more cases sent to the Attorney General’s Department for further action,” CBSL officials added.
