The new Governing Board has decided to convert Rs. 3 trillion worth of Treasury Bills held by the Central Bank to long term Treasury Bonds.
This was revealed by CBSL Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe last night when he addressed a CEO Forum in Colombo. Dr. Weerasinghe said conversion will happen today and will help drive Treasury Bill rates down soon.
