CDB gets $ 30 m from US DFC

Citizens Development Business Finance Plc (CDB) yesterday announced that it has received a commitment of US$ 30 million as loan from the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).

“During US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) CEO Scott Nathan’s trip to Colombo from 7 – 8 November he announced $30 million in DFC financing to Citizens Development Business Finance PLC (CDB) to support women entrepreneurs, sustainable financing, and micro-, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs),” CDB said in a filing to the Colombo Stock Exchange.

It said the reaffirmation of the commitment was signed in a ceremony at the US Embassy by DFC CEO Nathan and CDB Managing Director/CEO Mahesh Nanayakkara. US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung and USAID Mission Director for Sri Lanka Gabriel Grau were also present, highlighting the United States’ continued dedication to fostering economic growth and empowerment in Sri Lanka.
