COPE to probe Central Expressway project audit report

  • Four COPE meetings scheduled for this week
  • Officials of RDA summoned to discuss special audit report on feasibility study and procurement activities of Central Expressway project
  • CPC, CEA among other institutes to be scrutinised by COPE

The Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) has summoned officials of the Road Development Authority (RDA) and related Project Management Units for an inquiry into the special audit report on the feasibility study and procurement activities of the Central Expressway project.

The Committee will examine the report tomorrow. COPE Chairman MP Charitha Herath said that COPE will meet for four days this week and examine several audit reports.

The Water Board, the Board of Investment, and Central Environmental Authority officials have been summoned to appear on Wednesday.

The report to be considered is the Environmental Audit Report on Water Pollution of the Kelani River.

On Thursday, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) officials have been summoned before COPE to discuss the Special Audit Report on the storage and distribution of petroleum in Sri Lanka, while on Friday, the Coconut Development Authority, the Coconut Cultivation Authority, the Coconut Cultivation Board, and the Coconut Research Institute are to appear before the committee.
