Cabinet Sub-Committee to tackle economic revival and growth

The Government has appointed a Cabinet Sub-Committee on economic growth and recovery to provide the strategic guidance required for national fiscal management activities. The Committee will be chaired by the President, along with five other Cabinet Ministers including the Prime Minister.

The Committee is tasked to take immediate decisions concerning economic recovery and growth.

The proposal to this effect submitted by President Ranil Wickremesinghe in his capacity as the Finance, Economic Stabilisation and National Policies Minister was approved by the Cabinet Ministers on Monday.
