Cabinet nod for additional Rs. 3 b to purchase paddy from Maha season

The Cabinet of Ministers yesterday approved an additional allocation of Rs. 3 billion to purchase paddy from the Maha cultivation season.

Speaking to media post-Cabinet meeting last night, Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said a total allocation of Rs. 13 billion has been made for the purchase of paddy from the Maha season.

Previously, the Government allocated Rs. 10 billion to purchase paddy from the Maha cultivation season.
