Cabinet nod to appoint Ministerial Committee on Investment Promotion

The Government has decided to appoint a Ministerial Committee to boost investment promotions.

The proposal to this effect tabled by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was approved unanimously at the Cabinet of Ministers on Monday.

The Committee will aim to provide technical and policy decisions related to specific investment areas, whilst the Committee will be headed by the President. In addition, the Prime Minister, ministers and State Ministers will also be a part of the Committee.

The Ministerial Committee is tasked to achieve the Government’s investment goals and identify related investment opportunities.

To further support the actions of the Ministerial Committee, an Officials Committee headed by the Secretary to the President comprising relevant Secretaries and other Government officials has been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers this Monday.
