Celebrations as President announces external debt breakthrough

Residents in Maradana gathered around a mega LED screen to watch a special statement by President Ranil Wickremesinghe, while a group of people burst firecrackers in celebration. The jubilant scenes followed the announcement that Sri Lanka had finalised debt restructuring agreements with the Official Creditors Committee (OCC) and China Exim Bank, marking a significant milestone in the economic recovery efforts
