China sends more medical supplies to SL’s COVID-19 fight

China will send a fresh load of medical supplies to Sri Lanka as a goodwill gesture to help in the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Chinese Embassy said the latest batch will be air-freighted from Shanghai to Colombo by China Eastern Airlines MU231 on 17 April.

The Chinese governmental aid includes: 20,016 test novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) nucleic acid diagnostic kits (PCR-Fluorescence Probing); 10,000 pc medical protective face masks (filtration rate≥95%); 100,000 pc surgical face masks (3-layers); 10,000 pc disposable coverall (Type: one-piece coverall); 1,000 pc medical goggles (anti-splash, anti-impact, anti-fog); and 50,000 pairs single-use rubber surgical gloves (material: natural rubber latex).

The total CIP price of the medical supplies are $693,191.

The Embassy of China in Sri Lanka said it avails itself this opportunity to renew to the Sri Lankan Government, her people and all medical workers the assurances of its highest consideration, respect and best wishes in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
