The Colombo City Restaurants Collective (CCRC) said yesterday that all its members had been fully vaccinated and were ready to serve post-lockdown.
“The restaurant industry has been under intense stress since the lockdown started, with many fighting for survival. However, on a positive note during the lockdown time the members have initiated all staff 20-30 with the first vaccination and all others have already been fully vaccinated, to be ready to serve in a safe environment post-lockdown time,” CCRC said in a statement.
For completion of the vaccination, CCRC members expressed their gratitude to the PHI team and the doctors who supported the effort.
CCRC said COVID-19 had changed the concept of dining in a way and enjoying a restaurant meal post-lockdown would reflect this change.
“As dining out will be the new normal, some will promote alfresco dining where possible, adhering to all best practices on cleanliness, maintaining social distance, while creating a healthy and safe environment for all to function and keep business moving. Guidelines will be presented to the customers and the staff, in relation to post-lockdown operations, as the restaurant business is all about human interaction,” CCRC said.
With the new systems in place, CCRC is inviting all food-lovers post-lockdown to relive the joy of having hot and fresh meals with loved ones, exploring their favourite restaurants and cuisines while enjoying safe dining experiences.
“CCRC members are enthusiastic in welcoming diners, to enjoy a welcome change from delivery and takeaway meals at home,” the statement added.
