Dayasiri says Sirisena will contest next Presidential poll, Mahinda will be PM

SLFP General Secretary MP Dayasiri Jayasekara yesterday emphasised that President Maithripala Sirisena will run for the second term and Opposition leader Mahinda Rajapaksa would be the Prime Minister. 

He said the SLFP hopes a strong government will be formed with the support of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).

He noted SLFP and SLPP talks were on track to create a broader alliance to defeat the United National Party (UNP). “Both parties are based on the same principles, therefore I think this is a good combination to develop the country,” Jayasekara added.
