Ven. Kusaladhamma Thero

In remembrance of late Dr. Most Ven. Walamitiyawe Kusaladhamma Thero, tomorrow has been declared as a day of mourning.
The final rites on Kusaladhamma Thero will be on the same day, the State Ministry of Home Affairs said.
Separately the Excise Department said all liquor outlets in the Gampaha and Colombo districts would be closed tomorrow on account of the Government’s move.
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday, in a message of condolence, said he was deeply saddened by the demise of Kusaladhamma Thero who was the Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Chief Judicial Prelate for the two Regions of Colombo and Chilaw, Peliyagoda Vidyalankara Parivenadhipathi and Aggamahapandit.
“Most Ven. Walamitiyawe Kusaladhamma Nayaka Thero can be considered as one of the prominent learned monks who contributed to the present development of the Peliyagoda Vidyalankara Parivenadhipathi, which marks the revival of the Sri Lankan Sangha generation and Buddhism,” the President added.
