Main Opposition, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Dr. Harsha de Silva has been unanimously appointed as the Chair to the Committee on Public Finance (CoPF).
He served as the CoPF Chair in the ninth Parliament as well.
The nomination of Dr. de Silva as the Chair by the Committee of Selection to serve on the CoPF was made in terms of the provisions of the Standing Order 121 of Parliament and the motion agreed to by Parliament on 6 December 2024.
The list of Members of Parliament was subsequently announced to the House by Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne yesterday.
Accordingly, the following MPs have been appointed to serve on the CoPF: Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma, Ravi Karunanayake, Harshana Rajakaruna, Nimal Palihena, Wijesiri Basnayake, Thilina Samarakoon, and Lakmali Hemachandra.
