Dr. Senthilverl ups Kotagala stake to 10%; becomes second largest shareholder

High net worth but low profile investor Dr. T. Senthilverl’s stake in Kotagala Plantations PLC has increased to over 10%.

The move follows him via Senthilverl Holdings Ltd., acquiring 1 million shares on Tuesday thereby increasing his stake to 33.86 million shares or 10.0047% stake in Kotagala.

His Tuesday’s purchases were at Rs. 910 and Rs. 9.40 per share. Yesterday the share price closed at Rs. 9.10, down by 10 cents.

Prior to that he held 82.8 million shares. With the recent purchases, Dr. Senthilverl has emerged as the second largest individual shareholder with 3% stake behind Consolidated Tea Plantations Ltd., (54.3%) and related party Darley Butler and Company (3.10%).
