EOIs to be called for tourism projects spanning 5,000 acres

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday revealed the Government’s plans to call for Expression of Interests from interested developers of luxury resorts in areas including Mattala. 

“To start with we are looking at 5,000 acres collectively covering various parts of the country,” the Premier said, adding that in the short term they were looking at four to five luxury resorts of 500 acres within the Mattala tourism zone and Iranawila.
