Cabinet Co-Spokesperson and Minister Bandula Gunawardana affirmed yesterday that elections are highly unlikely to be held this year, given the current economic constraints.

“We are not in a financially stable position to pay off our loans. Without controlling this situation, the country cannot advance even a little bit,” he told journalists at the post-Cabinet meeting media briefing yesterday.
