Eng. Herath assumes duties as SLIC Chairman

SLIC Chairman Eng. Vijitha Herath

A renowned engineering professional, Eng. Vijitha Herath assumed duties as the Chairman of Sri Lanka Insurance, the leading insurance services provider in Sri Lanka, yesterday (3).

Prior to being appointed to the rank Herath previously served as the Chairman of Ceylon Electricity Board from 2019 to 2021.

He also serves as the Chairman of Sri Lanka Podujana Engineers Front, a leading engineering body with more than 5,000 members.

Having started his own successful construction company in Sri Lanka in 2012 Herath’s corporate experience spans across local and overseas organisations in the field of engineering.

He also possesses excellent academic credentials, a BSc. in Engineering from University of Peradeniya and All Island Rank No. 20 in the Mathematics stream at the GCE A/L in 1992.

Herath completed his primary and secondary education at Mawathagama Central College and Maliyadewa College Kurunegala.
