Best Design Newspaper of the Year award for Weekend FT 

• Weekend FT wins award for best designed newspaper and www.ft.lk clinches merit for best designed news website

The Daily FT and the Weekend FT won two accolades at the annual excellence of journalism awards last night at the host hotel Mt. Lavinia Hotel.

The Weekend FT was adjudged the best designed English newspaper whilst the www.ft.lk secured the merit for best designed English news website. 

Over 50 awards of excellence were bestowed at the 23rd edition of the annual competition organised by The Editors’ Guild of Sri Lanka in partnership with the Sri Lanka Press Institute and its affiliated unions, the Newspaper Society of Sri Lanka, Free Media Movement and the Sri Lanka Working Journalists Association.

The main sponsors of the awards were John Keells Holdings, Dialog, LOLC, Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation and Olu bottled water. Other sponsors are: Sri Lanka Cricket and INSEE Cement.
